This little girl followed a dog into a ranch yard and the Game Warden braught it in for me to take. Think it was about two days old when I got her

Well I have several options on this with it going to a tourist type attraction but I am leaning on keeping it at the Ranchette and useing it myself for school programs ect.
Once humans intervene and have handled the wild animals it can never be released to the wild with any expection of it living.

I like the Ranchette idea better. You put her in a tourist trap and sooner or later she'll get mean with all the kids hanging on her and then they will have to put her down. And that just doesn't seem right. Least if she's out with you, she'll be raised proper and maybe will get to go her own way when older. Like you say once around humans she'll probablly become dependent upon you, but at least she has a chance that way. I hope you do.

That is a beautiful fawn Nulle, and you don't look half bad yourself. I hope everything works out for her. What is sad is that we shoot them left and right around here because they are problematic. If I ever had a pet deer, duck, or goose, I don't think I would ever want to go hunting again.

there is the matter of backstraps that have been sizzling awhile grill-side that always brings the reality back from the sentimental...and oh yes, the overpopulation and deer management, yes, that's it!

Awww what an absolute cutie! Hope she does well, I like the ranchette idea best too. So, I understand that the tradition with male deer as pets is to name them "Bucky" but what's the moniker for does?

Well lets just up this thing a little by telling you I now have 2 deer.
Yup got another one today that I found. The mother was hit by a car and this little deer is in pretty bad shape and had trouble feeding it tonight. Going to be a rough one this time.

Best of luck with them Nulle. I hope everything works out well for them. The only name I can think of is Francella for the first one, and don't ask why, because I don't know, just popped into my head.
