I was just wundering if anybody has any luck on grunting to bucks or just calling them into your area. When is the best time to call and how often should i try? Thanks for the help.

Depending on where you live, right now is a good time to give it a try.
I called a spike in this evening with the can and a grunt |

When I hunted Kodiak Island every fall I'd occasionally call in deer with a dying rabbit varmint call. It was highly effective, some deer coming to within 10 yards of the caller. Never did get a brownie in, but I was always watchfull for that.

This can be a great time to call for bucks g the pre-rut and rut period. Don't overdue it though. You may want to pick up a doe can too and through in a few doe bleats with a couple of tending grunt calls to bring a big boy to check the situation out and challenge a potential rival!

I think has long as it is done sparringly, you'll never hurt your chances. It may not help always either.
Bottom line to me is, the deer has to be close enough to hear it, and curious enough to come over. |
