I read your reply about the CZ rifle in .458 binding. That's a pisser! Can that problem (binding) be fixed by a gunsmith or is that just a problem w/ the CZ magnum Mauser actions? I will take your advice the next gunshow I go to and just see if there might be a used DG rifle!

One thing I look for in a rifle is how well it fits me including working the action. After having a cape buffalo square off at 20 yards after taking 4 rounds from a .375n the ability to reload a rifle under diress is also a important feature.
If you have to purchase a rifle and right away do a lot of tweaking to get it to work right just seems like the engineering is wrong or poor craftsmanship. Having and elephant close from 35 yards down to 20 had the .375 H&H seem a little small for the situation. I would suggest for a good buffalo gun being the.416 Remmington. If you ever get in a situation where you are going to an out of state gun show, talk to your local gunshop to see if they would accept shipping from another dealer for a fee.
