.22 short

is it safe for me to shoot .22 short ammo in my ruger 10/22 even if i have to load it single shot, one at a time? thanks.

It's not unsafe. However, extensive use of .22 short ammo may lead to fouling of the chamber which will create problems with feeding .22 LR ammo. A thorough cleaning will remedy that problem if it occurs, but the design of a 10/22 does not exactly lend itself to easy chamber cleaning.
