Ranger Lanham,
I have an old .54 T/C Renegade caplock and love it. Does T/C sell a "drop in" .58 barrel for the .54? I cast many .58 projectiles for my reenactment M1853 .577 Enfield. Those Minies are awesome and deadly. Be sure to let us know how your .58 shoots. Adam

I have a left handed T/C Renegade in .50 cal and love it!
1" groups or less at 50 yards no problem offhand shooting. Don't like the sights on it, so I am gonna get some T/C fibre optics ![]() I'm sure the .58 will be a good shooting iron!!

58 caliber Renagade
I finally got my 58 cal! It arrived in the mail today! I won't get a chance to shoot it until next weekend. I'm gonna try to shoot roundballs out of her but I've got some Hornany great plains 525 grain bullets and I've got some Maxi Balls to try as well. I've got a feeling I'll end up settling on the roundballs. I've got some .570 and some .575 roundballs now all I've got to do is get to the range.

Finally got to shoot the 58 today! It really seemed to like 110 grains of ffg triple 7 and a .570 roundball with a .015 patch. I started with 80 grains and worked my way up and it really liked 110 grains of ffg triple 7. This thing outta be deadly in the deer woods. Good shooting............

Mornin Ranger Lanham ]
Isn't 110 grains of t-7 bout the same as 150+ grains of what the weapon calls fer?? t-7 is hot,,, Just askin,,, Less powder, more lead, shoots far, kills dead. More powder, less lead, kicks hard, wide spread.

We worked up from 80 grains of 2f Triple Seven and went up to 110 grains. Accuracy was actually better with the 110 grain charge and presure didnt seem to high. The manual says you can go up to 120 grains of Black Powder or pyrodex. I know Triple seven burns a little hotter than the other Black powder substites but it didnt seem like there was to much pressure and the gun shot great with the load. Sorry it took me so long to post a reply weve been training really hard down here at Bragg for the next round with terrorists.
