ACTUAL 22 Mag velocity...

ACTUAL 22 mag velocity
I own a Savage 93 bull barrel 22 mag. I believe it has apx. a 20 inch barrel. I'm curious ... I've read the advertised velocity of the 22 mag cartridges but unfortunately I dont have a chronograph to test it. Have any of you chronographed your 22 mag? If so I'd like to know what you found.

Thanks

I remember doing a bit of shooting with my 9422m over a chronograph but i did not really look at the advertised velocity on the boxes. We were just looking for spreads in deviation. this was years ago and i remember the 50 grain federals stayed quite consistent and the cci minimags non hollowpoints were the most consistannt of what we shot.

Back then there were none of the 32 grainers and poly tiped rounds they came out with when the 17 hmr was introduced. We had winchester, federal and cci 40 grain solids, winchester federal and cci hollow points and the 50 grain federals. My 9422M likes the 50 grain federals real well. I remember we had an Automag 22 mag pistol also and the only thing it like to feed well was the winchester solids.

I don't know but I've been told it's hard to swim with the weight of gold. On the other hand I have heard it said it's just as hard with the weight of lead.
