Question What R Your Latest Body Counts

I'm stuck at a pitiful 8 skinnys for the season so far. Work took me away from hunting quite a bit since Spring.
Took a few with the VSF 308Win using 150gr Red Prairie HP bullets over VARGET. They really flip when I hit 'em.

I've only killed 10 or 15 (haven't been paying attention and lost count ) A few of my brothers are up around the 50 mark though...

I've got ya beat there Skinny, only 3 so far. Increased hours at work and when off miserable heat have been the culprits.

Yeah, well I have everybody beat at a whopping zero. Haven't even had the time to go out and hunt. Heck, haven't even had the time to get a hunting license, but I'm going to take care of that today.

Don't have ground hogs. Do prairie dogs count? Only went out a couple times, and don't really keep track. So I probably downed a hundred or two. Used my .223 a little, most was done with a 22.

It was pretty cool the last time I shot PD's about a month ago. A pair of Bald Eagles didn't seem to mind the shooting, they came in and were eating the prairie dogs where they laid. One couldn't have been more than a hundred yards from me. It was great to watch him with my spotting scope. Wish I would have got pictures!

That would have been really cool to watch the eagles. I have only seen them in the wild twice in my life, and only recently at that (i.e., within the last 5 years). I saw one on my way to Baltimore and just could not believe it.

Varmints

11 prairie dogs and two coyotes. Last coyote came by with a bunch of others at about 50 yds. Only gun that I had close was one of my 45's. Got the coyote with the 2 nd shot at about 50 yds and wasted the rest on the others till they were about 200 yds. Scared the snot outta the others though. Haven't been howling close to here for the last few days. er nights that is!

Just prairie dogs around here to shoot. Try to get out about once per week. Not sure of the body count anymore, but have been reloading for the old Savage .223 alot.--tr
