Between Durango and Pagosa Springs about 15 miles form Chromo. Two hour drive south east of Durango.

I still know nothing of the ranch, Chromo is south of Pagosa. South of you is the Jicarilla Apache Res. Some big bulls in the area.
Not a CWD area. You should have a good hunt! Not easy country
but you should be fine!
Good hunting
Dan

Got home to a map, looks like altitudes from 7500 to 10k. Snow there will be a definite plus.....in the San Juans, you WILL get snow.

One of my friends who lives in eastern WY, right on the SD border called me last night and said it was snowing; their first of the year. Should be a good hunt E-man. I think this is going to be your year. Keep that mojo going and tag a monster. Something that rivals Godzilla in ID. Keep us posted and give me a call when you return. Going fishin' in the Gulf next week. Good hunting, grayghost

Turns out Banded Peak ranch is 35,000+ acres 8 miles east of Chromo. More bulls than Iv'e ever seen hunting... anywhere. Not monsters but good size healthy elk. I shot this one at 40 yards before 6 inches of snow showed up 2 days later. 9 hunters and 7 of us killed out. Largest one rough scored 310.

Thumbs up

Congrast on taking two 6x6 bulls in one season Elkman. Have you bought a Lotto ticket this week? You've done well my friend just kidding. I know how hard you hunt every year and you deserve it. Hope you get a great deer in IL next month. Keep us posted on M/L season too. Good hunting, grayghost
