Thumbs up Duck season in full swing for us now!!

Our season opened on the 21st of October but my lease in the rice fields wasn't flooded till last week. I hunted last Sat, Sun, Mon, and I'm headed back up tomorrow through Sun with the wife and my young blind partner.

I took my first Aleutian Goose on this last trip. Even though the rice harvest was late and most of the land around our club is still being prepped for flood, there are some birds moving around. Once the weather gets on track we should be doing well!

Jack and the Aleutian he retreived;

A Gadwall

Whitefront "Specklebelly" Goose

North side of rice check

South side of check

My boy with the fruits of his labor!

Now that's cool, I love your decoys. My best girl is 14 and I had to retire her. She doesn't think much of me going without her.

Nice work on the birds. Looks like you have a great set up. I like your pups expression in the last pic.

MTM,

Glad to see you back and posting. I know you had a great year last year, but how is this year shaping up?

Skeet,

How do you know that MTM is killing them in Montana? I would guess that you frequent another board that he frequents and he has been posting about this year's hunting on it. Between this board and a cycling board I visit, I just don't have much free time left, especially if I throw in hunting and riding. Oh yeah, then there is work. That is a four letter word if I ever heard one.

Just rolled in a 1/2 hour ago from our long drive from the club. We had a pile of dead ducks again this weekend. Here's another pic taken this morning with 2 days worth of limits for each of us.
