FN1949 Rifles

The February issue of Guns magazine has an excellent article on these classic rifles. They were made in 7x57mm, 7.65x53mm, .30-06 and 8x57mm and are fun to shoot. I managed to acquire a pair of these fine arms in 8mm Mauser. The article is a good read. All the best...

Gil,

Please go to a Xerox machine and make me a copy of the Guns Magazine FN M49 article. On your 8mm FN ABLs, can you make out them numbers on that Egyptian rear sight? LOL.

I have the 7mm, 8mm and .30-06 M49s. Did the article mention that the Argentine Navy made up a few thousand FN M49 rifles in caliber 7.62x51mm? I find that odd since Argentina had a standard caliber of 7.65x53mm that is superior to the NATO round, in my opinion. Meanwhile, I want a 7.65mm FN ABL M49.
