I think I am salivating. It looks as good as my 15 year old gun for being 8 years old. LOL However, I take really, really, really, good care of my target guns. They get cleaned after every outing and they don't get banged around much, if at all.

By the way, those are some great pics.

687EL

Pretty gun. Beretta sure does it a good bit better than the gag company. I like the side plates..even if they aren't for a real sidleock gun. The only thing different on that gun than the 687EELL is the wood. If it is 8 years old it really doesn't show it and it is a little better made than the newer ones. Probably a little heavier too. A friend had a 682 he shot 210 thousand shells in before he had to send it back and have it gone over...and this gun should do the same. Have fun!!

Age of it

Skeet, I was able to tell the age by the proof mark/stamp on the bottom of the barrel, they have a two letter code they go by. This one was made in 1999. It is a little heavy but I think it has got a recoil reducer in the stock it weighs 9 lbs but still balances on the hinge pin! Just shot a twenty three with it on level 2 at our 5 stand yesterday so I think it fits me! As an extra added bonus it came with a box of 5 Briley Spectrum Extended Choke tubes Roy

Beretta

You did good on this one. The weight is going to be a bit of a help[. My skeet gun weighs about 10 lbs so the best I can say is it'll be helpful. Y'all in the sporting game like to use some of those thumper shells so that will help in the recoil department.I know this will sound a little odd... But if you reload use the high antimony shot. You will average a bird or two higher for the most part. I told that to quite a few of my reloading cuatomers. Some actually got the message and found it to be true. But ...have fun!

The high antimony shot gives better, more consistent, patterns. I try to use the same shot brand and antimony content so that I always know what I will get when I pull the trigger. However, sometimes I cannot find the same brand shot and sometimes I am just plain left scratching my head after I pull the trigger. Such is life.

A beautiful shotgun. If you shoot it if the future as good as it looks we'll be seeing you on the front page of a clays magazine soon.
The all the Beretta's from the Silver Pidgeon on up are beautiful guns that will last a lifetime and will get handed down. I'm trying to make up my mind now in a new gun for the clay sports and haven't yet made up my mind. Beretta is one of the two I've got it narrowed down to.
Good luck with it and break them all.
