Early Season Reports

Haven't talked to any one with any reports on BP or Archery
that has killed anything. Talked to a freiend that owns a beer store over at Heeney and she said only a couple of hunters had stopped in with a couple of deer.
Any one else have any reports?
Dan

Elk etc

Know of a couple guys up in the Bighorns looking for an archery Elk but no luck so far My neighbor packed 'em up there near the first of Sept. Have more mulies around the ranch here than I've seen since I've been here. Neighbor says the same. Deer are coming back after some(possible) CWD a few years ago. Lots of whitetails too...no big one though. Spotlighters are out in force too

Wardens should have a field day too!LOL I Hope rifle seasons are
better. This is strange.....archers/stick hunters are usually very
vocal when they score....

UPDATE

Talked to several people from the SW and NW areas this morning.
Say that hunting is generally improving with colder weather...
San Juan's and Routt areas in particular.
1st Elk Rifle should hit it good!

I had some buddies near Steamboat last week. They didn't see as many elk as past years but saw some. Didn't score on anything. They said it was warm and not as much bugling as other years.

My neighbor down the road just got back from his first elk hunt this morning and had to stop in and see me. He was in NW Wyoming near Yellowstone and Idaho. He did pretty well.

No doubt about it, that is a good one. My brother in law went out and got a cow the other day. The son and I will head out for deer hunting Monday. Hopefully we can bring something back.
