Browning Gold problem
Obviously my son takes after his mother, he bought a Browning Gold and it will not cycle 3.5 in. shells. After the shot it will kick the spent shot out but jam the next one going in. Sometimes the empty gets caught by the next round, but not always. Good for me because I have inherited his shells for my Benelli. I have since talked to 2 others with the same problem. He's had it to a local guy but can find nothing wrong.
Has anyone else found this and has anyone delt with Browning about repairs?

I Shoot with a friend who's a real browning guy. He has the gold and had to have the piston and recoil spring replaced to shoot light loads for clay's.
Sounds like the same problem just different shells, his cycled the 3.5 turkey and geese loads great just not the light stuff. I know he sent it in after we shot a couple of rounds and had it back when we shot the next month.

I don't know but I've been told it's hard to swim with the weight of gold. On the other hand I have heard it said it's just as hard with the weight of lead.

I know I don't have to tell you my view on Browning shotguns. Good luck to your son. My SBE won't cycle anything less than 1 1/8 oz at 1200 fps, but it is my hunting gun and not my all around gun. That is why I use something else for clays.

my first Benelli was a M1 super 90 and all I shot, for several years was 3" duck and goose loads. When I finally did take it to shoot sporting clays it was loose enough to shoot 1 oz. stuff. The new Black Eagle II however shot everything from the get go. We even tried some 3/4 oz and they worked. I think maybe that's the excuse you need to upgrade fabs. LOL I will say that the 3.5 stuff does make the new one jump a little.

The problem that is most evident is that the shell in the magazine is being released a bit too soon. Bend the shell latch slightly to make sure the gun has to go through a bit more time to release the next shell. It sounds easy but not reall hard to do. I have never gotten very good service from Browning repair service. That is why I quit selling them oh so many years ago. I once sent them a really used and abused A-5. They fixed it but it took them 7 months. Cost half the price of a new gun too. Wore that thing out 3 times in 8 yrs
