Colt .25 caliber handgun question

i just picked up a Colt .25 caliber handgun. I did some research on the year it was made and for the serial number it has it was made in the year 1922. The gun works perfectly, fit, from and functionally. It has the original blue and if you were to look at and to be conservative it is in good to very good condition. What is this gun worth or valued at? I know the originals were manufactured much earlier then 1922.

Thanks

Happy Holidays!!

Squid4,

Welcome to the Forum.

It is hard to appraise a firearm without seeing it. The Gun Digest book, "Modern Gun Values" 11th Edition says on page 123 that a Colt Vest Pocket M 1908 Hammerless .25 ACP pistol goes for: Good $300, Very Good $375 and Excellent $450.00. I hope this helps.

Again, welcome to the Forum.

Where are you in NH? I lived for 26 years in Salem, NH. My kids still live in NH as do many of my friends.

Adam

Squid4,

If there was good grouse hunting hereabouts, I would so advise. I had my best grouse hunting up by Lake Francis and First Connecticut Lake by Pittsburg, NH.

My son lives in Nashua and my daughter lives in Northwood. I spent many days in Hudson and Nashua and time, now and then, in Bedford. I preferred the Lakes Region and North up by Waterville Valley, Jackson and Woodstock. Ah, if I did not have a farm in PA, I would live in Northern NH.

Happy Holidays.

Adam

Colt 25

I happen to have one of the colt 25's. In pretty good condition for a gun made in 1919 or 20. Darn thing is very accurate if you can hold the grip safety which is very strong. I also have a Beretta 25 in the box that is fairly accurate but much easier to shoot than the Colt. Big hands and little guns don't go together. BTW mine has original ivory grips. Kinda rare i guess. Given to me quite a few years ago by a friend.
