Cordoba Argentina in July

Well guys, I just confirmed our next trip to Argentina, in July. We will be shooting doves again this year and taking a break to hunt perdiz (grouse) over dogs for one day.

This trip I am taking the "fine young man" with me. The son is coming from Okinawa to attend the War College, in Montgomery, Alabama when he returns from Iraq. Just before he checks in I will haul him off to Argentina for 9 days. I have told him hunting tales, now is the time to take him with me.

Sounds good Rapier, have fun and enjoy some time together. I hope to make it there some day. What gauge and shotgun you taking? That Benelli Cordoba sure looks sweet, I'd like to pick one of them up and take it there to put it thru its paces, Waidmannsheil, Dom.

Dom,
Thanks, I am going while I can still wiggle. I am so close I can see the writing on the wall. If you dream, do not wait to long to go grab that dream.

I will take four guns, two each for myself and the fine young man. He will use my Browning 20ga 525 Sporting 30 inch and my 20ga Beretta 391 Sporting Gold as a backup. I will use my Browning 20ga 525 Sporting 32 inch gun. So far I have not received the Cordoba 20ga gun I ordered a year ago. The local dealer called on Wednesday to tell me he had to reorder the gun and it has been back ordered yet again. I looked at a Super Sport and went back the next day to buy it, a guy walked out with it about 30 minutes before I got there, drat. The 20ga Benelli top end guns are like going to Tulsa, you see it, you like it, you best buy it right then and there.

I can carry one of the other Browning O/U guns if the Cordoba fails to arrive. I will need the Cordoba for next year anyway as I plan to go Pigeon / Duck hunting in Uraguay. I really waned the Cordoba for pigeons but will carry one for doves just to wring it out if I can ever get one. The pirates on the internet are wanting retail + for the guns that were $1300 last summer.

Thanks for the info on the Cordoba Rapier, guess I better get one ordered, I think the 20ga would rock.

I hear ya on putting off, been taking advantage of them 'dreams' but there's only so much time in a year, I'm booked out this year already, so maybe next year, have to wait and see, Dom.

Ok, I have a Cordoba on its way. I ended up buying a used gun from a guy in Georgia that had bought it for his wife. She decided she did not want to shoot clays so after a flat of shells I bought it. Course, I have seen Benelli guns in Argentina with over 750,000 shells through them that still functioned and looked like like new. So 250 shells is nothing at all.

Just bought the plane tickest yesterday so we are getting things put together. Oh, on planes, I do the Dallas to Santiago to Cordoba route.

PS This is where I am going
