customary tips

A friend and I will be going on a hog hunt soon. Lodging and meals are included in the package. The hunt is not fully guided, by that I mean we'll be driven to the stands, but on our own from there.
Additional services included field dressing and cold storage of the meat while we are there.
I don't have much experience with these kinds of hunts, so what is an appropriate tip? We hunted the same place last year and they treated us well. I don't remember what we tipped last year, as it was something we didn't think about until it was time to leave.
Neither of us are cheap, but we're not made of money either the three day/three night hunt will cost each of us $850.00.
I appreciate any advice.

On my whitetail hunts in NC, I asked the outfitter how much should the guide be tipped. He said most hunters give 10% of the hunt price.

My whitetail hunt was similar to your boar hunt in that the guide brought you to & from your stand only. They also took care of your game if you were successful.

IMO it really depends on the individual performance of the folks that are truly taking care of you. I've been on hunts where a fella one day takes great care of you and does everything in his power to make sure you have every opportunity to harvest game and the next day have a guy that was lucky to find the key to the truck. I reward service above and beyond and penalize service below an bizarre as well info the outfitter of either extreme. 10% seems fair for normal service that I expect for the money I've paid and what they've promised for the pay. ie If I've paid top dollar for a hunt the help is going to have to be pretty outstanding to get over the 10%. On the other hand if I paid bargain basement and the help was exceptional I can be more generous and not bat an eye.

Good luck with the hunt
