kids fishing contest, bad for future

Today i stumbled through a local park that was sectioned off for a kids fishing contest. ( i would have put this in the fishing section but seriously who scrolls down that far so any how i got screamed at for not being a club member in a public park because its only for kids, people men were hooking fish and reeling them halfway in then handing the rod to a kid right before the net. people would scream back across the creek to let the kid fish. last year i got hollered at for putting bait on the hook for a kid with mild autism. its no wonder kids dont want to fish. many of the people i saw i know as also area hunters, so i just wanted to say take your munchkins to a pond for bluegills, its a way better experience for all.

This is a bad deal and it has been going on for as long as I can remember. If it is for the kids they should be the ones doing it unless there is a real good reason why not.
I guess I start at the bottom of this site and work my way to the top trying to get anything good that interests me. The fishing section is just that where readers in the fishing area go to peek their interest. Without posters it becomes a dead site which is a shame. We find it easier to just stick everything in this section and leave the others blank. Personaly I sometimes dont check this site.

KT..I am on the board of directors at our local club and during the fishing contests I do the fish measuring and trophy handouts and see lots of shenanigans just to win a prize. Those that need guidance with things like worming hooks, removing fish etc etc is why you are there in the first place to help them. Then there are the adults that tie up large fish caught the night before somewhere along the lakes and take their kid to gather them for the derby the next day..taught how to cheat.. Yes one was caught doing that...it is still a nice thing to take the kids to the pond and let them feel the fish on a line / pole. Hats off to anyone that helps anyone these days....also see the video I posted down the list here..is what I am talking about helping the fellow man...or woman...lol..

As far as videos go..I only wish I had mine running when my daughter shot her (not the first one) turkey this year. It snuck up on her right side and when she turned that way to take the shot, a little off balance when the BANG...and I watched as she got knocked off the rock seat she was on and her feet ended up in the air .... all she said was..WOW...she got the bird but I got to laugh for the rest of the day....
