You picked a good area. I've hunted 371 just to the East. This unit is typically undersold and even know it's completely draw there are normally left over tags.

Make sure you bring some good equipment for vertical climbs..You're "in" what I call mountains there. I have a few local contacts who are clients and are outfitters if you need more info about that area. Dan's close enough he may be able to fill you in a little more, but he's right about the draw. If you're just deciding now, you best get your homework done since the draw is 3 weeks away.

Thanks for the info Dan, Petey. I have been in GMU44 and 444 staying at Sylvan lake but have had little success. Last time I was ther was 2007 didn't even see the usual campground does... road construct was heavy quess this played a role. I am studying GMU 35 and 36 since it sounds like the game move down from 44-444 into these areas but don't know where would be a good place to stay. Dan, know of any full service campgrounds in the area. Thanks

You tent or trailer camping? I haven't been west of Silverthorn in 11 years..... I believe I'd try south of I70 though....a warning, all this area has been hit HEAVY by Pine Beetles.....Lodge pole pines are DEAD! This is why I'm going south this year.....plus a invite on a private ranch.
Ya just gotta remember that Elk are migratory animals....the go in a constant loop..where the food is! Problem with a draw tag is you are stuck in that area! Plus, you only have a few more days to apply.
