Bowhunting education requirement

Has anyone heard about a new requirement that all bowhunters will need to complete a bowhunting education class in order to hunt with a bow? I am not sure of the details, but I was talking with the owner of a local archery shop who informed me of this new requirement. He wasn't sure if there were any 'grandfathering' exceptions.

I don't know about your state, but bowhunter ed is worth it anyway. Have a look at http://www.bowhunter-ed.com/ and see what there is for you.

it's not a bad idea...

california has had something like that in place for many years. i took the course quite a few years ago.

as i recall, it was a part of the hunters education requirment to get a license.

In order to get a hunting license in The People's Republic of Mass you have to either be a old fart, show a prior license or take a hunter safety course. None of this is a bad thing. As far a bow's I know of nothing yet and I say yet.
