Africa: good deals to be had

The economy seems to be everyone's problem now a days, with Africa no exception. Good hunting packages are being offered in most areas with South Africa and Zimbabwe leading the way. Plains game and dangerous game hunts have come down with airfare following suit. Packages for 5, 7 and 10 days plains game lead the best offers with hunts starting at under $2,200. If your looking into hunting Africa, now would be a great time to find a hunt that suits your budget and go.
Good hunting,
grayghost

I am actually in the process of planning my first African safari for 2011. While my airfare is already taken care of (I have about a zillion frequent flyer miles accumulated with British Airways - from my business travel), I am undecided for which plains game I want to hunt (I want to start off with plains game, both from a budgetary and experience perspective). I have been researching outfitters/PHs in both South Africa and Namibia and have made some notes on what are my preferences.

Of course....there is always the wife to convince to allow me to go away for 7 to 10 days and leave her and my 5-year old daughter at home alone. But that is nothing new, as I travel to the UK and other places for 2 to 3 weeks at a time.

BriBri, if I could offer one piece of advice; don't go less than 10 days. Although I book as few as 5 days on occasion, 5 or 7 days isn't enough to realize your there. Jet lag and the event of being in Africa will make time fly like no where else on earth. Even if you have to save and wait a little longer, a day hunt will be worth it. You'll want to savor every moment.
Good hunting,
grayghost
