S&w m645
I recently acquired a S&W M645 in caliber .45 ACP. I liked its looks from the get go; it looks like a Browning Hi-Power on steroids and is stainless steel.
At the bench it performed very well with my Lyman #452460 200 grain cast SWC bullets and 700X. It will take a bit of time to transition from the M1911 Colts I have been using for lo these many years. The S&W lacks the grip safety and the ambidexterous safety is also the decocker for a DA first shot. On the plus side, it has an 8-round magazine and nice adjustable sights. Who else likes the 645? Adam

645
Had one and went back to my trusty old 1911's. To me the trigger was terrible and the double action was awful.. The next generation 4506 has a better trigger and a bit better ergonomics(feels a bit better in the hand). That being said..the 645 is a well built gun. Heavy and usually shoots pretty well. I sold mine just because I had gotten so used to the 1911 I didn't want to change...and I had a few of 'em too.
