haven't shot much this summer and I SUK

man, my confidance is lower than its been for a couple years, I've managed a couple 6" groups at 800 yards, and did do a 3.6" group at 725 today but I'm seeing what not shooting every week will do!

Hang in there man! After going over all of the physical issues with the gun making sure everything is okay, it does all come down to the shooter. Slowing down, squeezing, seeing the shot go off....it will come back to you with some more rounds down range. Your post is right on though!

You can't just pick up a weapon of any kind and expect to be proficient with it. You HAVE to practice. It's no different that with a bow a handgun or whatever. Brett Favre can't through a perfect pass if he hasn't thrown a football in a couple months....

Loaded up 40 rounds of Tripple Shocks for the boy's new deer gun on Sunday, and figured I might as well load up some more 7RUM cartridges. Needless to say I seem to take a little more time being maticulous about my long range rounds.

I got 20 fully loaded with Bergers, with another 15 resized and primed ready for loading. Man those ol cases sure eat up the powder. Nothing like dropping 28 grains of BL-C(2) in a .223 case! I had about 2 hrs into those 20 rounds, from resizing, cleaning primer pockets, measuring powder and seating bullets.

I figure another hr or two tonight and I'll have 50 ready for this year's deer season. I need to hit the range soon to make sure everything is still on. Spent most of this weekend hunting and finding the perfect load for the boy's .223

Ridge....gotta figure out a date when you can come up to our spot in Dec, even if it's a weekday. I think our license will run ya $101 and gets you a buck tag, turkey and small game. My welltender in our new area has been seeing some big boys, so there should be plenty to go around this year.

Search for Clarion, PA. We're within 15-20 mins of there and probably the biggest town around that's close to I-80. My one spot is about an 1 hr North from there. Clarion is roughly 1.5-2hrs NE of Pittsburgh. I'm guessing 4.5 to 5 hrs from you. Lets just say it always took me about 4.5hrs to get to D.C. taking roughly the same route

As far as what's available...we can only hunt Saturday's on the weekends and you name the weekday. I have one of those jobs where I can take off whenever I want. The first two days of season I'm setting aside for my 6 yr old to hunt. We should have things wrapped up by then for him.

That would be the Monday and Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Rifle season is about 2 weeks long.

I'll look into being free the 2nd weekend in Dec. I'll try to work it in.
