Wyoming Antelop

Sorry I've been gone a while. I'm still hunting and will as long as I breathe.

Just got back from a fun little antelope hunt in SW Wyoming. Pitched a tent with a buddy and his son and hunted BLM land for a couple days for antelope. They were all mature bucks, mine was the smallest.

I enjoy eating antelope, we had them skinned, quartered and on ice within 20 minutes of the shot.

Great hunt, hope everyone else here gets to enjoy some good hunting this season.

Good antelope meat. An old friend of mine, who is no longer with us, told me never shoot an antelope in the head or neck if you want good meat. Shoot them in the lungs or heart. When you dress a head shot antelope you might get a handfull of blood if you cut his throat. If he is chest shot, you will have a chest full of blood when you open the chest cavity. He will basically be bled out.
My old friend was right. Shoot them in the chest if you like good antelope meat. Also shoot them early in the day before they have been run several miles.
