Great finds

Well I did another gun show with a friend. It was not a really profitable endeavour but all and all a fun time. I sold a bunch of stuff I really didn't need which was a good thing..BUT I ended up buying stuff..all kinds of stuff..mostly ghood buys. . Best of the bunch was a nice S&W 19-3 combat magnum. Pretty certain it was a cops gun at one time as the front sight had been replaced..It was fairly tight and locked up good.. Got it for 175 bucks ..think that was a great buy. Got a RCBS Rockchucker 1970 press in almost new condition with primer feed etc for 50 bucks..like I needed it. a neat Oehler chronograph with all the junk with it for 40 bucks..and I don't even know why. Another good buy was a Star progressive press in 38 Special a Lyman bottom pour furnace 9 Lyman Bullet moulds(6 four cavity) a Star Luber sizer with 8 sizing dies and punches 60 lbs of lead ingots and 22 sticks of bullet lube..Paid a bit much at 575 but wanted the Star Luber sizer.. Best buy though is my kinda stuff. A box of reloading dies. About 20 Lyman 310 dies and a bunch of Pacific RCBS and even Easton Dies. In the batch was 3 complete dies in 25-35 AI 250 AI and a set of 7mm AI Mauser..anyway all included was 77 dies for 15 bucks. Not that I needed it I also got a really nice but refinished Winchester M-67 single shot 22 for the grand sum of 75 dollars. And like I really needed 'em..10 boxes of 52 gr BTHP .224 bullets for 5.50 a box. I have been finding that they sell the little stuff for almost give away prices at some shows.. That is why I like to go to the smaller shows. I also found a Remington 722 in 222 for 325 bucks..Gave it to a Smith to ream the chamber to 222 Rem Mag. Charged me 75 bucks off on a Remington 721 in 270 Winchester that I had on my table. I had a bit much on the rifle anyway..Now I need to find a few more cases.Alsogot a really nice and tight Ponsness Warren 800B reloading press and accessories..good price too. Next weekend is a Show in Billings I have to go to..Like I need more stuff. LOL

DOH That 222 is a great rifle as is! Oh well, Guess I can't complain at least you are having it remmed to another good caliber. My best find lately I can't pick up *rolleyes* a NICE condition (read near mint) older Hoyt bow(late 70s early 80s) 60-70lb RH with brass pin sights, and all the bells and whistles (from back then) shop wants $147 but would "talk about it" if I was paying cash...... I am willing to bet I could talk them out of it for $100 flat. Oh well maybe next time.

Had to take mommas car to the dealer for service so went to the gun show in Billings for a while. Didn't buy much as they didn't have a lot of the littles that i like. Got a set of new Redding 222 dies for 15 bucks.. a set of Bonanza Bench Rest dies in 22-250 for 10 bucks and a new set of RCBS 45-70 dies and an old Herters Reloading manual for 25 bucks..Mainly wanted the old manual.. Full of Herters "it's the best in the world writing" but still kinda neat. Both times i met that ol guy..he talked just like his catalogs described things.. I saw quite a few Holy Crap prices for certain.. Those Military firearm people are REALLY proud of their junk...some however was nice. As an aside..in the box with the 45-70 dies was one of the older RCBS large shellholders for 45-70..the one about the size of a 50 cent piece.. Don't see 'em much anymore..

Picked up a Grumman Otisco 14' Jon Boat with a Sears and Roebuck trolling motor Sunday for $150 cash..... They even threw in the fish net. No trailer, Now I am looking for a 5-10hp outboard to mount on it so I can start tearing up the Neches River Catfish population again like I did with my great grandfather when I was a kid.

Thats a $1200+ Jon boat and a $??? Trolling motor for $150. The lady I bought it from got it from her father who bought it at auction last year. He is in a hospital and in a bad way and they just needed to get his investment back. I was happy to help.

WIN!

Probably. I really kinda felt bad about grabbing that boat for that price, particularly since I overslept on Sunday and missed church. But hey all they wanted was their investment back and I was the only person to call about it so.....

God Loves me.

Talking

Here's a picture of the boat (so far nicknamed purty ugly) sitting in the back of old blue. Yes it is sticking about 6 feet off of the tailgate. Yes that's how it will be hauled to the river each time. Now I still gotta find me a 5-10hp outboard for it.

Well heck..you just don't get it..You ain't no boatin person..That ain't a spare tar..that is a throwing ring..for when somebody falls outta the boat when the water is over waist deep.. Specially when ole Bubba says fer ya to hold his beer and watch this.. You do have to remember though..when ya go past the service station..fill that tar up with air.. Won't float iff'n it ain't got air. BTW I like that lectric fan outboard motor..
