Chnage of seasons.....

Just out of curiosity, how many of you folks that carry change what firearm you carry based on the season? I usually carry my 9mm or .38 special most of the time, but when winter comes, I'm usually carrying my 1911 in .38 Super, as I have a large jacket that helps hide it well. Conversely, I carry my Walther PPk/s in the summer when it is hot out......hides easily with just a T shirt.

What about ammo? Do you change to a heavier bullet, or different style (soft point vs HP) in Winter? I tend to keep my same ammo, but wonder what other folks do.

i stick to the same to calibers except now a flannel or hoodie allows owb holsters a lot easier than in the summer when iwb is my standard. as soon as money allows i would like to follow suit by moving up to 45 for the winter

Mr. 16 gauge,

Very good subject. I carry my M1911 year around. I just shove it into my belt on the weak side and wear my shirt out in Summer. In Fall and Winter, I still carry on the weak side or use a right hand directional draw holster under a vest or jacket. I do not change loads with the seasons.

Summer a Para Ord PDA 9mm, compact yet on a 1911 frame but double action. Winter 1911 45 acp. Yet if I'm on an extended trip I carry my PDA and a full sized 1911 in 9mm, don't have to worry about 2 different caliber ammo.

I carry the same handgun year round because here in the state of hot it is rare that we actually get cool or cold that lasts very long at all.
