Another Gun Show..in Billings Mt
Well this weekend is one where I took the blind(legally) fellow to his show. He got 4 tables and one and a half is mine. There are quite a few people at this one as it is in the biggest town in Montana..almost a 100 Thousand people in Billings. I have sold quite a few bullet mounds bullets and primers..and of course buying stuff that I really like...reloading items mostly A guy gave me an old Echo C press today. Looks new....but I bought a few guns too. Best buy of the bunch was a 99% S&W Model 34 22 Kit gun with a nice Bianchi Holster. . The price was so good I hadda have it and the guy lives 4 miles from me so I picked it up coming home tonight....also got a really nice 700BDL in 6mm an 870 Express for the Grandkids back east as well as a Rem 1100 with a slug bbl on it...One of those grandkids in Maryland will probably give it a good home..Got a good buy on a Winchester 100 semi auto in 308..and it looks new..post 64 but really nice.... then a Rem 700 Varmint in 223 and I don't know why. The 6MM is going to go to a friend who sold one and wants one back..This one is better than the one he had. I will have to keep the Model 34. I also bought a Ruger SBH 44mag for 300 bucks..new model with some holster wear..but handguns are getting harder to find...reasonably priced that is. One of the neat items I got was 2 Lyman Tong tools with more than 40 dies for the great price of 45 dollars. .Ammo is flying out the door as are primers. Seems that I have the best prices on the primers at this show..I put some eye candy on the table in the form of Hensley & Gibbs bullet moulds..and some people have never seen one. One fellow who has collected over 40 of their moulds had never seen a 41 cal H&G mould..till today. People are looking for hard to find brass to reload too. Well we'll see what tomorrow brings. Now I really need to sell more stuff.

Well this show is finally over Wow what a long weekend. Sold a bunch of stuff..17 bullet moulds 70,000 primers and a bunch of reloading stuff. Got rid of a few safe queens and some guns that just came in on trades. Bought a few too..Finally found the Ruger New Model Flattop 44 Special in 4 5/8 inch.. Had a fellow stop by the table to get some primers and he had a gun I just had to buy. It was an old Remington Model 8 semi auto in 35 Rem. Made if i got the codes right 1922. In really nice condition with about 85% blue stock is nice.. Probably paid more than I shoulda but Just like Adam and the Military collectors on here....nostalgia weighs heavily in what we all buy. I finally got to get around the show and the prices of Garands were really up there..not like the prices Adam quoted..but not all that far down the ladder either. Guy had a DCM M 1-D?? Sniper I guess..and the price was really high..Even had the DCM papers..I really don't recollect the price but it was higher teens. I do know he left with it..Not many Springfields Saw a couple of Krags and 2 military marked 1895 Winchesters..wow on them.. There are a lot of 30-40 95s. Saw a bunch of Savage 99s and they bring up there prices.. Smith and Wesson revolvers of the older vintages are going sky high too. Had a fellow try to sell me a Pre war M-70 06 for 800 bucks with very little finish..very low 4 digit serial..not worth the asking price inmy opinion. One item I maybe should have bought was a Browning A5 slug bbl for 140 bucks...nah it was a Browning..Oh and had a fellow offer me 316 Sets of New Bair dies..and a couple of Bair H presses as a package deal for 3200 bucks. Lot of money to put out now..so I passed. People are still hurting for money or so it seems. There is a feeling of doom and gloom regarding the upcoming election..Hopefully we will luck out sonme way.. Not more shows for a while..The fellow I went to the gun show with had to leave for Michigan as his wife's aunt died..So I have all of his stuff to unload in the morning..Gun shows are a lot of work

Skeet since you sell brass etc at your shows, is it true 223 brass our military uses is being destroyed so it will not get sold to the public for their reload use?

Even with the snopes thing..it is true..and false. Some brass is being collected and sold on the scrap market. They sell it..grind it up and most goes to China..but it is on the open market and if not bought by the ammo powder etc recyclers..it can be bought and used in any manner by who ever buys it. I live near Salt Lake(10 hours or so)...and there is an awful lot of brass available in the Utah Wyoming Idaho Montana areas. Lake City is the sole remaining arsenal and it is run by Federal Ammunition Co.. BTW..some ammo is coming into short supply again..I do not know why..but isuspect most is being bought and hoarded for after the coming election. I do have to get a bit of 308 ammo for my recently acquired AR 10. I truly do have a bad feeling about the coming year or so..especially if Nobama wins again.Also..I have seen a spike in prices on Military .223 brass prices lately..not much but some. All brass seems have gone up a bit though. I am at an all time low on hand too. I probably only have 5000 rounds of 223 brass and have quit selling it. but I have 5000 rounds or so of 222 Rem Mag I can make 223 from. LOL
