Newfoundland Moose

Just got back from Newfoundland yesterday on a great hunt during some tough weather. The wind blew hard and we had rain all day and night for 3 of the 5 days. Just the same, Eli scored huge on day 1 with a great moose. I ended the hunt on the last day at 10:00 am with the second moose I had seen all week. Not the giant I went for, but a great eating moose and the hunt turned out to be a great adventure.

Understand the Caribou heard is down. Any talk from the local's about that. Its a fun place to hunt plus you don't kill yourself doing it. Always 100% success.

Caribou herd is definitely down in the are we hunted which was area 3 on the north end. The outfitter had one permit this year. That being said I did see a great stag and a cow. The bear population in that area has grown and they think that has a lot to do with the fawn survival rate. Also they were saying that they're starting to see coyotes there which they feel are contributing to it as well.

Waidmannsheil on a good Moose, enjoy the steaks! That area looks nice, thanks for the pics, I haven't made it up that way yet but wouldn't mind it.
