Very Old Newspapers....

My neighbor called me and asked me to pick up a few bags of newspapers for my woodstove. I brought the bags of newspapers home and started to prep the woodstove this morning. FIRST UP was a newspaper, the New York Times dated Thursday, November 4, 1948. The headline was: "Truman wins with 304 electoral votes; Democrats control senate and house."

I have many other old newspapers to sift through. As President of my County Historical Society, this newspaper, and probably others, will reside in our local museum.

When I bought my first house I found a newpaper for 1894 in the attack. Dress suits were 4.50. Times have changed.
