First Match of the Season - 1000 Yard VBR
Well this Sunday is the season opener. We'll have 3 generations at the bench, with my son, myself and my father. I had my son out there a couple weeks ago and he knocked down quite a few pieces of steel at 900-1000 with the new 6XC barrel.
Looks like it'll be a nice day with only 8mph wind. Hopefully we won't get thrown around too much! Anyway, my son is gunning for grandpa... thank god he isn't gunning for me. He doesn't realize how hard it is

Great day to shoot. My boy rang up 2nd with a 19 at his first match ever. He was sitting sweet with 18 after three banks. That last one killed us all with the wind that picked up. Shot a 23 myself... Same problem, with a 21 going into the last bank of animals. That lil 6XC sure doesn't buck the wind like my 6.5's. Awesome first match though. Loads of fun!

Petey,
What bullet and powder charge are you guys using? At that distance, the wind can be a challenge. It seemed it went both ways for me at 1,000 yards.... Adam
