Annual Act 218 Qualification.

Next month I need to go to the range and qualify with my Glock Model 19 9mm and Colt M1911 .45 ACP per the Federal Statute for Credential Carry for retired Lawmen.

Act 218 is a Post 9/11 federal law that says retired lawmen can carry anywhere in the USA on their credentials provided they requalify annually. Our shooters on the firing line are representative of every law enforcement agency one can think of. After qualifying, we go to our local Sheriff and present our scorecard and are given a Blue Card to carry in our credentials.

Dan,

I thank you for the support. I had hoped Popplecop would have chimed in as he also does the annual 218 qualification.

As we all know, ALL the Bad Guys are armed so let retired lawmen help "Level" the playing field.

Dan,

Your Faith in me was not misplaced. On June 16, 2015 I shot a 9mm Glock for 299X300 and a M1911 Colt for a 298X300 over the PA State Police Course of fire. I got my Blue Card signed by my Sheriff and can Credential Carry anywhere in the USA for the next year.

I can now go see my grandson in NH without a MA "Problem" with my favorite M1911A1 in the "Peoples" Republik. I can also CARRY in Delaware, New York and New Jersey. What is not to like?

Dan,

I am sure you are a good pistol shot. I was the revolver (that dates me) champion in NH in 1977 and 1979. Now, that was before my bifocals. I cast all my handgun bullets, shoot a lot here on the 60-acre farm and run handgun classes weekly. Scores like I shot enhances my Handgun Instructor credibility.

I like the 9mm and .45 and carry.
