WHO Patterns Their Shotguns?
Most shotgunners do not, but all should. Many shotgunners "Assume" their pattern is spot on: WRONG! My detailed records tell me which shotgun shoots WHERE.
I suggest all shotgunners keep very good records of their 40-yard patterns by shot size and loads. All my shotguns have a "Profile" recorded for reference. Adam

Haven't done it in years though, A hold over from skeet days. I did find some loads that you could walk through! Thanks for posting.

Dan,
My favorite trap gun shoots a few inches one way or another with a switch of powder or wads. Adam

I do.
A friend of mine used to make some interesting statements about this or that turkey load not being effective - then he patterned his gun and found it shot a foot below point of aim at 40 yards.

All of my guns are patterned on a steel pattern board. And setup to fit me using the pattern board. I shoot Sporting Clays and live birds and do not shoot a gun on the range or in the field until it fits me properly. Hard lessons, but hang around with serious clays shooters and you might as well learn a bit about what makes a shotgun shoot, even if it takes a few serious posterior thrashings in the beginning.

Adam Helmer,
you're darn fight EVERYONE should pattern their guns. Too many experiences of dealing with guns that don't shoot point of aim. Actually had a gun that was bent at the end of the barrel at the factory... Shot low left bad... Don't trust mass manufacturing...
