Evan03,
How Long is long range and what are your intended targets? I routinely shoot at my 400-yard hayfield gongs with various hunting arms from the bench to learn the needed hold over from a +1.5 inch 100 yard zero. Every 100 yards from the bench to the gongs I have a stake and orange flagging ribbons. It is my wind indicator "flag" system to gauge crosswinds. I was surprised to relearn how much effect a mild wind has on projectile impact. Good shooting. Adam

My 2506 can make inconsistent hits at 800. That is furthest I've tried. On game I'm 400yds and closer. In hunting conditions we read heat waved.
Past 300 I'll crank the knobs but do have hold over points to 800ish without cranking. Wind does seem to be the number one variable what's at muzzle certainly isn't happing at the target. Just gona have fun and see how far out I can consintley hit a 10x11 ar500 plate. There's quite a few long range matches her in idaho. I might go try one so I can see how bad I have my ass handed to me |

Here's my load on my reticle and it's my actual reticle. This is guestimating 3100fps . .458bc. I m8ght be going 2900 or 3000 so I'll need to tinker with velocity number to adjust actual on target.
I've I'm hitting low at numeras ranges then I'm not moving at 3100. If high I'm going faster. This is also a 100yd at 1.5 above the bore. Passed 300 I feEl I want ho crank the knobs. I'll also throw wind in to.. It's a science technology has advanced and made it easier but I gota take it from the paper and make it work in real world. Was hoping to get out this evening and hit Steel at 400ish but I won't be able to. Grrrrr |

Evan 03,
In 2009, I bought a Savage Tactical in .25-06 in a Choate stock with bi-pod and a 4X-12X scope. She weighs about 15 pounds and everyone who tries her hits my 11" X 18" gong at 400 yards from the bench. My wife hit her first three rounds and then got over confident and missed the last two rounds. You have a nice outfit. What bullets and loads are you running? I have shot 87 grain up to 120 grain bullets with very good results. I love it when the wind pushes my flagging tape right at 100 yards and the flagging tape is pushed left at 400 yards. Good shooting. Adam
