Difference between Sightron II and Leupold VXIII

I recently purchased a new Savage muzzleloader and an old Sako 243 and need to scope both rifles. I have about decided to put a 2.5x8x36 VXIII on the Sako and I was thinking of possibly installing a Sightron 2.5x7or10x32 on the muzzleloader. The Leupold is $400 and the Sightron is just over half that price. What differences should I experience between the two scopes? I have heard good reports on both scopes but how do they compare to each other?

i had a 4-16x42 sII milldot. got rid of it so i could get leo 4.5-14x40vxIII

the leo is far better in all aspects than the sightron.

but it might have just been the scope. the paralx was super finicky and it was never clear like the leo.

i have no exsperince with the lower power scopes with fixed objective from sightron. they may be better.

Evan,
Glad to see your post. I was thinking about breaking down and trying one, maybe, but I`ll put that out of my head now. I bought into the Burrius makes better handgun scopes than Leupold. I bought a 3 x9 and a 1 1/2 x 4. The 3 x 9 wouldn`t group well at all on 9x and on 3x the point of impact was over 6 in. from the point of impact on 9x. The 1 1/2 x 4 seem to do alright except it won`t go over 3x. I`m going to be getting a pair of 2 1/2 x 8 Leo`s. About $ 950 for the pair, but I`ll have 2 higher powered handgun scopes that work.

catfish. i may have just had bad luck.

the objective just never was clear. specialy not when compared to the leo that seems to always be clear.

i may some day try the 3-9 fixed objective scope on 22 or something. but other than that sightrons pretty well out of the loop for me.
