Shooting the P-38

Yesterday was a day at the range so I loaded up a passel of guns and went to the club. The initial shooting was with a 6.5x55mm Swede Model 1938 (Husqvarna) at 100 yards. Then I shot a few guns on the 50 yard range. I had a lot of 9mm ammo loaded up and wanted for function test the P-38, but the pistol range was occupied with other shooters.

I started shooting from a sandbag rest at target at 50 yards. The guy on the next bench was surprised and asked what I was shooting at and I told him the lower target. He scoped it out and said I was hitting it. My response was, of course. I enjoy shooting the P-38 and am pleased with it at the range. All the best...

Gil,

I like shooting my P-38s. Recently I shot about a dozen different factory loads in my favorite P-38 and was surprised how it handled all ammo well. The best load was WW 115 grain Silvertips, which is what I carry CCW.
