Idaho unit 22- first hunting trip

hey guys,

just got back sunday night from my first hunting trip. It was pretty cool. Hunted some awsome drainages. Saw alot of signs but most of the signs were elk. And at the end of the last day of the hunt lol, I saw a doe mule deer. She was looking right at me and she was no further than 50 yards or so. I had my crosshairs on her left side of her chest so I would have nailed her hear and lung. Maybe even deeper than that. But I decided to let her go and try for a buck for my first deer. Although the hunting for deer wasnt so hot. We did see a big 7 point bull elk and a 6 by 3 elk cross the road not 20 min. from when we saw the first elk. We think that the smaller 6 by 3 lost the fight with the bigger 7 point elk.
