One of the major tenets of the Muslim religion is that all infidels are to be put to the sword, and you my friend are an infidel to them. Don't ever think you are their friend, you're not. Keep your head down guy and best wishes. Hurry home.

OK, the ball is rolling..

"one thing i know we all would appreciate is some Deer Jerky, and lots of it... if you guys could send some since im gonna miss the season it i would be in a world of graditude"

have a group of hunters here in MI gearing up and offering to donate venison/jerky. More hunters are joining the cause every day.

We will likely end up having a big "Smoke Fest" to prepare the jerky and send in one large shipment (nothing worse than guys not having enough to pass around and share !)

I end up giving away my venison every year anyway...this year I hope to add a mulie and an elk to this most-worthy cause.

just let me know where to send it

making progress

I had hoped to be able to send a package off in time for the holidays. But at least we're still on the right track.

A local smokehouse owner (himself a veteran) has offered to professionally process, smoke and shrinkwrap all venison we can deliver to him for the troops ! The caveat is he cannot due it until the first of the year when his busy season is over.

So....its taking longer than planned, but still ON THE WAY TO YOU !!

in the meantime

I have noticed on a few of the shooting/hunting boards threads that like to bash unions. Our union has a few thousand members. Union members support the troops with more than just words.

Our union put out an appeal to the membership for donations. In the appeal we listed every item that was suggested to us by returning servicemen and women. Everything from Twizzlers to hygiene products was on that list. Within days our members started filling large boxes with items on the list. We formed a committee to collect, box and ship the supplies over seas. Many members also donated cash so that we could pay for shipping.

Within a month we collected an exceptional amount of donated items and shipped out more heavy boxes than you can imagine.
Later, we received a request for writing stationary, pens, pencils and a few items that were not on the original list. Another appeal went out to our membership and the supplies were rolling in again. We did it for the troops but it sure made me feel good every time we loaded up and headed to the post office.

Sorry we couldn’t supply some venison jerky too. :>)

ROCKY - Thank you for all that you do for our grateful country - be safe.
