.204 Ruger recipes!

Now that I am getting a T3 in .204 I am going to need some really good recipes for it!

Many people here shoot that caliber? Id like to hear what your using!

I was my local sporting goods shop yesterday, seems all the Remington .204 brass is sold out!! Hope they get some more really soon! They had some (I think it was Nosler Brass, or something like that!0 Brass but it was $50 for 50! EEK! I can get Remmy brass 100 for $33! Think I will go remmy!

I bought a used 204 a little while back, just to try it out. I've shot it some but have not really gave it a good test for accuracy yet. I usually try to use a more common powder for several cartridges when appropriate. I would look to one of the medium/faster powders for the 204. Many you see also used for the 223. I currently load Ramshot TAC in the 204. I also use H 4895 in several loadings & it would also be fine in the 204.

So far my best results were with 40gr Vmax's and IMR4198! So I am just gonna stick with that!!

My 204 is a Remington VSSf II with a 26" barrel.I load Winchester Cases with Varget powder and CCI bench rest primers and use Sierra 39 gr Blitz King bullets. This load will give me consistent 1/2" to 3/4" groups at 200 yrds with no wind .My trigger has been lightened to 1-1/2 lbs and the flash holes have been DeBured and the primer pockets uniformed. This is a very accurate load as I have passed this load on to 2 of my buddies and they BOTH shoot under one inch at 100 yds. Here is a link for some good 204 info.

Just to advise you my chronographed velocity is 3690 fps.Work up your loads slowly as groups were good to start with but got better as I shot couple hundred rounds through it ,got the brass fire formed and neck sized,
Good Luck,Hope this load works for you!

I have a CZ 527 and a Savage in .204. The CZ Loves the Sierra 32 gr. bullets don`t do bad with 39 gr. Sierra`s or 32 gr. Hornadys, but hates the 40 gr. Hornadys. The Savages like the Hornady bullets much better. The 35 Bergers aren`t reall bad in eather gun, but nothing to brag about. Just keep tring different combo`s untill you find 1 your happy with. There is not load that will shoot good in all guns.
