.22 conversion units

Does anyone out there have any experience with those .22 rimfire conversion units that convert a centerfire semiauto to a .22 rimfire? I know that Colt used to make one for the 1911 & AR15 models, and I see now that SIG makes a unit and CZ makes one for their CZ75. They are a little pricey, but if they work, they might be worthwhile and save on having to buy a second handgun, not to mention the decreased cost in practice ammo.

Conversion

I have a Marvel conversion with my Wilson Combat 45 and it works just fine. I also had a Colt at one time and it waasn't as user friendly A friend has a conversion for his AR and it seems to work ok. Way to easy to spray with it though..

Mr. 16 gauge,

I have had several .22 conversion units for the Colt 1911, 1911A1.I have none at present. I do recall some locked onto the Colt frame better than others using the slide stop.

I've got a Ciener Platinum on a dedicated 1911 reciever that I just love. Magazine holds 15 rounds, draw back is it doesn't stay open after shooting the last round. Works best with hi-speed 22s. Most acccurate 22 semi auto I've ever owned.
