The ad said, "Old Army Rifle, $100.00."
I read our weekly free "Penny Saver" newspaper and saw the above ad. I called the phone number and was told I was the 5th caller, but nobody came by to see the piece. I told them to hold it until I made the five minute trip to town.
I saw a "1921" dated Carl Gustav 6.5x55MM M-96 Swedish rifle in mint, matching condition. I did not quibble over price, I just rolled off five 20s and dashed home to the farm. An hour later I had test fired the piece and it was right on point of aim/point of impact at 100 yards. Ho, Ho, Ho, I got my Christmas gift for 2009. Last year it was a M1898 Krag .30/40 rifle and now a 6.5mm rifle. I just keep reading those Penny Saver ads. Adam

Way to go, Adam! Congratulations on a great find! The 6.5x55 is one of my favorite deer cartridges!

Good for you!
Nice buy Adam. I took out the last buy I made(Ruger 77 300 Mag). A bit off to the left but it shoots pretty good. It do kick a little though. Those pennysaver ads are keeping you going aren't they??

Ya gotta use neighborhood papers. In Denver, local rag....Cali owned....an individual cannot place a firearms ad....only dealers! That or the infamous garage sale.
