conversion factor?
I received my latest issue of Fur-Fish-Game this week, and there is a good article in it on turkey hunting with a flintlock smoothbore. Unfortunately, the author listed the load he was using in drams instead of grains. The only reference I can find refering to drams is conversion to modern shotgun shells.
Anyone have a table or conversion factor to change drams to grains?

Mr. 16 gauge,
I cound not get an answer on Rustywreck's link. My book says a dram is equivalent to 27.3 Grains. Hope this helps. Adam

Mr. 16 gauge, The link converts 2 3/4 drams to approx 75 grains. 3 drams is about 82 grains. Using the weights and measure tables in Websters dictionary gives the same figures.

If you have a shotgun shell loader, throw a round of powder and weigh it. Be careful whatever you do.
