A Yard Sale Find!

I go yard sale searching every Saturday morning locally. Last Saturday I went nearby and saw lots of old tools, furniture and other stuff. I saw a few canvas chairs, tents and then I saw a NEW OD green canvas thing. It was new in and out and appeared to be a sleeping bag cover. I asked my neighbor, "How much?" He said, "Five bucks." I gave him a five and drove home and put the OD item on the laundry line out back to air.

I checked the item over closely to try to locate the Federal Stock Number tag most GI stuff has and found none. I then saw half-inch high letters at the top end. It said: "Pouch, Human Remains, Type 1." Walla. I have a new GI Body Bag, my first ever.

Can anyone top that for a yard sale find?

Adam

That would be a conversation starter! A little creepy, but, what the heck. .

Jack,

Yes, a "Body Bag" may be a bit creepy, but that is what our nation expects for our military personnel. I put my yard sale find in my big barn along with much other GI stuff. Lest we forget.......
