May in Virginia
Fer the first time in the state's history, in may, we're allowed ta hunt them toms from daylight till dark, the month of april is still till noon only. Maybe i can still git out there, it's bout to kill me. Sat mornins is all i have, and i caint never git out there on a sat mornin. That's like pullin teeth outta a west virginian...
(oooh i'm gonna git flamed fer thatun.. ) Anyways, on a brighter note..they been catchin 60+ lb cats outta the james over my way, and the crappie is settin the reels on fire, along with the bass. So, if anything, i WILL wet a line fer the first time this year..perty dam quick, cause i've bout had it with werkin all the time. I'll be headin to the mountains soon to blast some ghogs and catch up with some old freinds..maybe even git me a jug of shine..gawd only knows i need it!

Hey LilRed, I wish West Virginia would have a Season like that, been many mornings, especially in later season, when the hens go to their nest an ole love sick gobbler will kick off about 11:45 a.m., not much time to work him, you won't get flamed by this West Virginian, you can call me anything as long as you call me for dinner, eh ? ha,ha

I tried the afternoon hunting (e.g. calling) a few times here in central Virgninia and, at least for my part, found it to be a waste of time.
