Trench guns
I watched a fellow do the paperwork today for a Remington Model 10 Trench Gun in a local gun shop. It was in NRA very good condition and he was thrilled with his acquisition. I have not seen very many original trench guns, but this was a nice one. Have any of you folks seen these guns? All the best...

Gil,
Bruce Canfield covered Trench Guns in his book, "U.S. Infantry Weapons of World War II." On page 123 he discusses the Remington M10. The government acquired 20,000 M97 Winchesters adapted to the M1917 bayonet and then acquired Remington M10s with "an unusual wooden handguard rather than the ventilated metal type found on the Winchester." If that M10 Remington had a wooden handguard, then you saw an original WWI trench gun. Adam

Trench guns
The Remington Model 10 that I saw was missing the wooden handguard, but the buyer said he had one at home. He seemed to know a lot about these old guns and I may have learned something. Take care. All the best...
