Taking responsibility

Nobody takes responsibility anymore. 3 examples from the last two days.

Dan Rather was on Larry King. Dan still doesn't think he or cbs did anything wrong with the bogus George Bush service records. He still claims that they MAY not be bogus. Dan, admit you got hoodwinked or worse, tried to fabricate and manipulate the news. And if you hadn't noticed, you really don't have a job anymore. Kinda proof postive they were bogus.

Ravens running back Jamal Lewis just got out of prison after doing 4 months for conspiracy to distribute cocaine. He was asked if he had any advice for the young people out there. Basically his advice was to be careful who you talk to because talking to the wrong people can get you thrown in jail. Ahh, no dipschtick, conspiring to distribute cocaine will get you throw in jail.


Kellen Winslow Sr., father of Kellen Jr who wrecked his motorcycle a month ago, sustaining season ending injuries, ripped the media for the whole episode. Kellen Jr's contract specifically stated he was not allowed to ride a bike. But Jr. thought he was Evel Knievel after watching a bike stunt show and busted himself up. When Sr. was asked what advice he would give to his son to avoid injuries throughout his career, Sr responded by saying his son shouldn't read the papers or watch tv. Uh, I didn't realize a reporter tied him to the bike and pushed it over. I didn't realize that a big screen tv fell on him. Although the media is slimy at times, neither Winslow has acted decently or honorably at all thru the whole ordeal.

When you get famous, do you get shot with stupid injections or just have your tact and responsibility gene removed?

The fame injection immunizes them against reality. The side effects are loss of responsibility and sense.

They seem to be permanent conditions, and humanity does not return.

Only rarely is a person immune to the effects of the fame injection. Among the few examples have been Neil Armstrong, Sgt York and General Norm Swarzkopf.

Wait a minute. Why should this be limited to the "rich and famous"? How many times have you heard, "It's not my little Johnny's fault. The other kids made him do it." Or, My little Jimmy didn't do it". Or, "It's not Billy's fault she got pregnant. The little pramp seduced him". Or the opposite side of the coin, "My little Janey wouldn't be pregnant if your son had kept it in his pants."
People today, in all levels of life no longer take responsibility for their actions.
I mean, after all, "The devil made me do it."

the media has never had a ny credibility as far as I'm concerned. And I'm a little miffed at most athletes today. Why is is that most of the people blessed with amazing athletic talent are a little short in the brains department (can anyone say Maurice Clarett)? I've always enjoyed watching nice people succeed in sports (and there's very few of them). Kudos to athletes like Cal Ripken Jr., Peyton Manning, Jim Thome, and the rest of the "good guys" who use their position to positively influence those people they come into contact with.

Maurice Clarett is a complete idiot. To do what he did at Ohio was complete stupidity. I think the problem with most, but not all, of these athletes is that they think they are better than everybody else. They think they are above the law and that they should be given special breaks because they are athletes. Personally, I don't see where they are given too much to society. Not like doctors, nurses, or sanitation engineers. We watch sports because we have to entertain ourselves. Kind of like the Roman Empire and the gladiators. I haven't been watching too much sports lately and I don't plan on doing so in the future either.

Sorta like OJ..Michael Jackson...Kobe...Robert Blake,I could go on and on.If it was any other ordinary person like me..They would be in prison for life. Equal Justice For All??......I think not!
