Drug Problem

Two hunters were talking about the methamphetamine drug lab that was found in an old barn in the neighboring county. One asked the rhetorical question, “ Why didn’t we have a drug problem when we were growing up?” The other replied, “I did have a drug problem when I was young:” “I was drug to church on Sunday morning. I was drug to weddings and funerals.” “ I was drug to family reunions, and if I was disrespectful to adults, I was drug to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents, told a lie , brought home a bad report card, did not speak with respect, or didn’t put forth my best effort in everything that was asked of me.” “I was drug to the kitchen sink to have my mouth washed out if soap if I uttered a four letter word.” “I was drug out to pull weeds in the garden, help fix the fence, and drug to the barn to muck stalls.” “I was drug to the homes of family,
friends , and neighbors if they had no one to help with mowing yards and pastures or do barn chores…and if my mother had ever known that I took a single dime for this kindness, she would have drug me to the woodshed.” “ Those drugs are still in my veins, and they affect my behavior in everything I do, say, and think. They are dtronger than cocaine or heroin; and if today’s kids had this kind of drug problem, America would be a better place.”

I have to agree on this one. Most kids don't understand how good they have it nowadays. Smack em' and you get a visit from the law. I still say a kid needs a swat once in awhile and my kids get em'.

My mother and father once made me help people I could not stand, because they had said something derogatory about my mother that was unprovoked. The people were totally amazed when I showed up with a large truck in flood waters to help them save as much of their furniture as we could. They could not thank us enough. My parents said it was the Christian thing to do. I didn't understand then, but I do now. Yes, I got druged a lot when I was a boy and I appreciate it now more than I can ever say.
