cubbies and bucket sets

seems like live traps are the same basic principal. set the bait in a man mad enclosure past the pan which trips the trap. we can only use live traps here for recreational trapping and the only problem would be dispatching in a live trao vs. a bucket set.

Dispatch in a Live Trap

There are three ways I utilize to dispatch in a live trap.

.22 caliber firearm
CO2 chamber
Dispatch pole
A CO2 chamber is an airtight box that the live trap will fit down into, close the lid and then administer the CO2.

A dispatch pole is a pole with a syrenge on the end of it.

Check your regulations before implementing any of these techniques.

We keep a livestock tank full or water when we have to love trap critters.......usually skinks. Just drop the live trap in the tank and drown it, quick and easy and no shooting required. That is what the local game wardens do as well. If you are in a situation where you can only use live traps then shooting is usually out anyways and even if it isn't it attracts attention.

i trap TONS of rats in my backyard and use live traps because they just trip those old victor rat traps. i keep a wheelbarrow full of water. used to shoot them but the wheelbarrow is much easier and no mess.
