It's getting bad for the Barrett .50

You know it is bad when the Stars & Stripes had a pretty big write up on how terrorist can use them. I would think a terrorist could use any caliber he/she wanted to. I think the media is giving the terrorist ideas, 'Hey go buy a light .50 so we can push our story'

Before I moved away from Texas, I saw a news show that made a point to say the Barrett Light .50 can shoot a commercial airliner on the ground from 2000 meters away.

What (I assume are presumed to be Islamic) terrorist would go out of his way to use a .50cal ? Not the most consealable rifle made. I really think Homeland Security would pick up on that going through baggage.

It seems, according to the media and some Kaliphornia folk, think the US will be over thrown by people sporting a few 'assult rifles' and (not so) light .50's

The BIGGEST crap I read is that people do not NEED a .50 rifle. People do not NEED a lot of stuff, why do hunters and shooters have to prove a NEED for something? Last I saw people didn't NEED Porsche cars, or digital TV (or any TV for that matter).

What gags me the most is the ridiculous claims the anti-50's make:

A 50 cal rifle will blow a rail car right off the tracks.

A 50 cal rifle will shoot an airliner out of the sky.

A 50 cal rifle will shoot right through a tank.

There seems to be no requirement whatever that their arguments are grounded in fact.

The people making these laws (or trying to) seem to be Joe Marthey wanna be's, 'Um no more REDS to use to scare the public............................Hey! I have an idea, riflescopes and .50cals!.......................this will impress the boss.
