Turkey jerky
Has anyone ever made jerky from leftover turkey? I was thinking of taking a little of my leftovers and making jerky. What did you use for a marinade?

I have never heard of making jerky out of a meat that has been cooked. I think that it would just fall apart.
I have made a lot of jerky out of fresh turkey breasts. Iwould stock up when it was on sale at a buck a pound. I haven't seen it on sale in along time. I never use my venison for jerky as I love the taste of venison too much to cover it up wuth jerky seasonings. With most of the meats that you use the only difference from any other is the texture of the jerky as the jerk covers up th meats flavor. I have what I think is a pretty good recipe. I will post it up in this thread when I get home later this week. |
