I need a M91/30 Mosin springloaded latch bayonet.

Gil and others,

I need a Good+ condition Mosin-Nagant M91/30 bayonet with the springloaded latch. I have been looking about locally and came up empty. Any leads will be appreciated.

Adam

Buy the whole rifle and bayonet

Adam,
When I was in the gun shop today picking up the 1912 Steyr, I saw three 1891/30 Russian rifles made in 1933, 1938 and 1940 with bayonets on the rack. A careful examination soon revealed that the 1938 and 1940 dated rifles were arsenal reworks and had mismatched numbers. The 1933 rifle had a hex receiver, matching numbers, cartouches in the stock, looked original and the bore was great. It was the cheapest of the three and I bought it. I asked the shop owner to sell one of the remaining bayonets for you, but he declined. All the best...
Gil

Adam,
To bad you didn`t need it a year ago. I bought 2 M-41 for the action and they both had bayonets on them. I traded them off at a gun show for abt. nothing just to get rid of them.

Catfish,

Thanks for the reply. We have our biggest gunshow of the year nearby this Saturday. I want to pick up lots of items and will get 50-75% per usual and hope a 91/30 spring-loaded latch bayonet is on the heap.

Adam, i replied a couple of weeks ago to one of your posts on the 91/30 bayonets.

Let me just make sure i understand what you want.

The springlatch your lookign for, has the little notch cut in the side of the bayonet, you push it onto the end of the barrel, depressing the springlatch slightly, then twist counterclockwise about 1/4 turn, where it locks into place, and you have to depress the springlatch to release it to remove it.

is this correct?

also when you say good+. what i consdier to be good+ and you consider may be ttwo different things. If your meaning good shape, no or very few dings, good bluing, nice springs or so, then the surplus place near me has a bucketful of them for $18 apiece.

If you want, i can get you one, send it to you, if you like it keep it and pay me, if not simply send it back and i'll keep it.
I've been needing a second one anyway so either way is fine.

just let me know, answer here, or PM me.

gumpokc,

Many thanks for the reply. I went to the Morris, PA gun show today and got two new 91/30 bayonets, 2 slings, oil bottles and cleaning kits for cheap money. I am now all set for $20, oh, what a country!
