Wait a minute here...

Jeez I thought you had to prove citizenship to get this in the first place, how dumb was I????

New law requires proof of citizenship for Medicaid recipients

By Robert Pear
The New York Times

April 16, 2006

WASHINGTON -- More than 50 million Medicaid recipients will soon have to produce birth certificates, passports or other documents to prove that they are U.S. citizens, and everyone who applies for coverage after June 30 will have to show similar documents under a new federal law.

The requirement is meant to stop the "theft of Medicaid benefits by illegal aliens," in the words of Rep. Charlie Norwood, R-Ga., a principal author of the provision, which was signed into law by President Bush on Feb. 8.

illegal aliens have been sucking the welfare, and medicare/medicaid system dry for years. thats why kailifornicate gave them drivers licenses, the drivers license is better than a green card. it's proof you are a citizen? and goes right along with their with their phony social security number. that way they can get "free" care and put their kids into a school system that they have never paid a red cent into and demand their children be taught in their home language.

i often wonder how far my family would have gotten if my parents would have demanded/wanted us kids to be educated by german or hebrew speaking teachers. they would have taken my parents back to ellis island and drop kicked them across the atlantic. as a child i never heard my grand parents or my parents speak german in our home. it was almost to the point it was forbiden. i remember my father saying, "we are americans, we speak english." even though they were considered working class my parents were well educated. my father spoke german,
and french, my mother spoke german, czech, french, hebrew and english fluently before they ever came to this country.

i think it was theodore roosevelt who said "any foreigner who comes to this country should know the english language and our ways within 5 years or be deported." sounds good to me.

as far as i can see most of these people only contribute to the stealing of services that should be payed for with tax dollars. only problem, most of them don't get taxed. they have no documentation and mexico is getting richer.

stiffs like you and me pay their way with our tax dollars.

if i were a few years younger i would head for the border in a heartbeat and join the minutemen. it would be my pleasure to shoot a few of those illegals knee caps off. but i have no taste to do anything like that anymore. i've seen enough blood spilled in my lifetime.

we just have to trust our lawmakers to do the right thing. if they can round up and confiscate guns in new orleans whats the problem with rounding up a few illegals anywhere else?

i have another post to make after this. and my hand is getting stiff.

the post will be called "dear president bush". make sure you look for it.

i'll be back about 8 o'clock. and as one of my heroes says "and i ain't comin' back to play marbles."

Billy D. said, "we just have to trust our lawmakers to do the right thing. if they can round up and confiscate guns in new orleans whats the problem with rounding up a few illegals anywhere else?"

You really trust our bought and paid for politicians to do the right thing? If that's the case, I have threse two very nice bridges in the San Francisco bay area I'll sell you cheap.

The only thing our illustrious politicians listen to are the huge campaign contributions they get from their rich buddies. Illegal alien labor is cheap labor. That makes the bottom line even better for the wealthy, which allows them to contribute more to the politician's war chest. We have the best government big business can buy.

Billy, i think this is the quote you were looking for.

""In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith, becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American... There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people." -- Theodore Roosevelt, 1907

Billy. I hope I didn't offend. It's just I have gotten extremely cynical about the quality of the people in our government. Sometimes, I feel some of them should be decorating lamp posts in DC. All they care about is getting re-elected, even if they don't deserve it. To be very blunt about it, they don't give a damn about us. Just vote me in and don't bother me.

I don't think the best people get elected either, but then again, I also do not think the best people run for office. Who wants to be elected anyway. I thought about it and even spoke to my wife about it a couple of weeks ago because I was thinking about running for the Maryland General Assembly. Of course, we would have to move because the county we live in is way too liberal for me to ever receive a single vote. Then, my wife told me that while I would like to make a difference in the world, it would be tough for me to deal with all the lying and back room deal making, and she is probably right. So, that career move has been put on the back burner. I do not want to be associated with a bunch of liars and have people think that I am a liar too. Guilty by association. Do I think I could do a pretty good job. Yeah, but I also did a pretty good job at the last law firm I worked at and I hated the job.

Fabs, I ran for City Council once. It was an at-large seat with no party affiliation.

The worst part of the whole thing (for me at least) was the fund-raising. I only needed a couple of thousand dollars, mostly to print flyers and signs. But even that made me absolutely blush in embarrassment when I asked people to contribute.

The actual job (I won in a landslide) was both fun and educational. I think I made a real difference, applying what I thought was common sense to new laws, zoning, prperty variances and emergency planning. I served only a single term by choice, and the city staff said I was a breath of fresh air. They deeply regretted the fact that I was moving away and had to resign.

You might consider doing something similar.

Okay, now the wheels are turning, or is it maybe grinding. I'll have to think this over. I just might be able to run for County Counsil because the portion of the county I live in is somewhat conservative.

no offense taken. i have read enough of your posts to know where you are coming from.

as for your remark about elections, i agree whole heartedly. once elected they quest for a re-election begins immediately. thats why i am a believer in term limits. but i am in the minority. the system we have now begs for corruption. i am surprised it's as clean? as it is. my great grandchildren will be voting for the same people we have in office in this state, and they have already been in office for twenty years. talk about lifetime politicians. all three have become multi-millionaires since they were elected the first time.

untill death do us part would be a perfect example of these guys.

ooooops. time for my pepcid.

have a good one bud.
